My Prayer

by Barbara Boedicker

I love you my Lord, my Father, my God.

Please help me as I travel this earthly sod.

Give me desire to serve You, to honor  You,

And to give You my love, each day anew.

My Savior, I thank You for all You have done,

You saved my soul; into Your love I will  run.

You sacrificed Your life for all I’ve done wrong,

I will live with You forever, You gave me a new song.

Help me to stand firm in my battles till then.

Help me fight the good fight, never to bend.

Let me hear the cry of victory, with You at my side.

Not getting caught, or weakened in life’s wicked tide.

When You finally call me, no more here to roam,

No more to live in this weak body’s home,

I will bring to You, my God, all the fruit of my labor,

My gifts to you, with love, and my saber…

The way will be over, and won, Satan defeated!

I will praise you with song, repeated and repeated.

In gladness and gratitude, I will join the great convoy,

You will wipe away all my tears, leaving only pure joy.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
